Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime Video Game Review

  • comment

I loved the Ghostbusters movies when they came out and was happy when Atari recently released the Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime video game. I was even happier when they sent me a review code for the Xbox (game also supports PlayStation and PCs). Nice! I’ve only played one level of the game so far. I think there are twelve levels in this arcade style game. In short: the game is a lot of fun and well worth the $10 price tag.

What is Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime about?
As you can guess, the video game is based on the Ghostbusters movies. In the game, you are a new member of the Ghostbusters team, and it’s your job to help save New York City from ghoulish creatures. You and your fellow ghostbusters (game supports up to four players) must stay alive while clearing ectoplasmic threats from various haunted environments. Your primary weapon is the proton stream from your proton pack. Other weapons include the plasma inductor and the fermion shock. In addition to dealing with ghosts that try to run into you, you also have to keep an eye for creatures that shoot or throw stuff at you. Some of the ghoulish monsters are too hard to kill by yourself, so you and your teammates have to shoot the nasty creature at the same time.

  • The game has a sound track, but no voice audio
  • The hints are text based and hard to read on my TV
