I received a promo code to review the Tango Chase app on my geek dad blog. In Tango Chase (by Herotainment), you swipe and tilt your device to help Tango collect items as he moves down the scene. Tango Chase [Facebook | Twitter] is a free app and is available now. The app works on the Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad (requires iOS 3.1.3 or later). Bottom line: Tango Chase is fun and easy to play, but some levels are very challenging.
The main character of the game is Tango. According to the press material, Tango is the orangutan sidekick from Herotopia, which is a superhero online world created by a husband-and-wife team to educate kids on how to deal with bullies. In Tango Chase, you tilt your device to move Tango side to side, and you swipe downward to move down. The objective of the game is to collect as many bananas, coins, and gems as you can while avoiding dangerous objects like spikes.
The app is very fun and addictive. As I mentioned previously, the game is easy to play. However, it can also be a little frustrating because some of the levels are hard to get through. Luckily, you can replay the level without having to start at the first level again. In addition, the game gives you three skips so you can skip a hard level if you wanted to. And if you need more skips, you can purchase additional skips with coins you earn during the game or with real cash.
Tango Chase features 70 levels. There are also six scenes: jungle, rain forest, canyon, factory, old ruins, deep dive. The jungle is the only scene that is initially unlocked.
