Video Game Review: 007 Legends – it isn’t very legendary

James Bond 007 Legends video game ~ Activision

I saw the 007 Legends video game (Activision) at the library and checked it out. This is not my kind of game. I’m not a fan of 3D-like games that require me to shoot at villains while being shot at. But I am a fan of the James Bond movies, so I checked out the game against my better judgement. I’ve should have stuck with my gut instinct because I didn’t think 007 Legends was very good. It’s not an awful game, but with a list price of $59.99, it should have been better.

The 007 Legends video game is based on the plots of several James Bond movies, including Goldfinger, Moonraker, Die Another Day, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, and the new release, Skyfall. The James Bond game is available for the Playstation, Wii U, and Xbox 360 gaming consoles. I played the Xbox version, which supports up to four players on one console. I didn’t try this feature, but you can also play with up to 12 players online.

007 Legends Video Game Positives

  • Fun to see bad guys and scenes from the old James Bond movies
  • Easy enough for my daughter to play, but not so easy for me

007 Legends Video Game Negatives

  • There’s some delay after you get kill before you can start playing again
  • It’s a legend game, but as far as I can tell, you’re stuck with Daniel Craig. You can’t pick a Bond legend like Sean Connery.
