Brain Age: Concentration Training

This week’s new video games include Brain Age: Concentration Training, Dead Space 3, Fire Emblem: Awakening, Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time, Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2, and Weird Park: Scary Tales. I’m not sure if the game is any fun, but Brain Age looks like it is the most useful game out this week. Below are more information about the new video game titles for this week.

  • Brain Age: Concentration Training
    Platform: Nintendo 3DS
    Rated: Everyone
Brain Age is back with all-new devilishly difficult brain-training exercises designed by world-famous brain researcher Dr. Ryuta Kawashima. The modern mind has numerous devices to stay connected (e.g. laptops, smart phones, tablets), and these distractions have led to an information overload making it difficult to stay focused on specific tasks. Brain Age: Concentration Training offers newly designed training exercises to combat this information addiction. By spending at least five minutes a day, these exercises will challenge players with activities to help improve their concentration skills and the ability to access their short term memory. The new Devilish Training exercises dynamically increase or decrease in difficulty based on your real-time results to help consistently train players at the limit of their abilities. Beyond the Devilish Training, there are additional new and classic puzzles for every purpose, whether to challenge one’s concentration or math skills or provide relaxation activities to give the brain a break.
  • Weird Park: Scary Tales
    Platform: Windows 7, Vista, XP
Louis the Clown and Mr. Dudley are back to take you on an all-new adventure through the dark corners of history’s most famous fairytales to rescue children trapped in a frightening netherworld! Mad Louis is up to his old tricks; this time trapping children and imprisoning them inside classic fairy tales. Each child is cast in the role of a legendary fairytale character; and forced to play their parts against the visually stunning but twisted backdrops of the worlds in which their stories will play out. Using your powers of observation to find hidden objects and intellect to solve well-crafted puzzles, you will make your way through the stories of Cinderella, Peter Pan, Aladdin and more, releasing the children only to see Mr. Dudley appear and then spirit them away to the clown’s tower. While you’ll face many other challenges, each step will take you closer to your climactic showdown with Louis, so there will be no turning back in this spellbinding hidden-object tale.

Kenshiro and over twenty other characters from the Fist of the North Star series are ready to unleash rage in another game from Tecmo Koei. Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage 2 has Legend mode that covers the entire manga storyline from the Raoh Saga to the Land of Shura. Dream Mode has original storylines made just for the game that often focus on minor characters from the Fist of the North Star series.

  1. We have one of the Brain Age Training games for the DS. This is one of those “great for all ages” games!

  2. This looks like a video game that will challenging, and you don’t get that in other video games.
